Cyclists assemble at 9:15 for 9:30am start. 10km Runners/Walkers assemble at 9:45 for 10:00am start. 5km Runners/Walkers assemble at 10:15 for 10:30am start.

10km Event: Assemble at Apex Park at 9.45 for the 10.00am start. 5km Event: Assemble at Apex Park at 10:15 for the 10.30am start.

Bib Collection

Your bib number enables you to receive an official time. Collect your bib number from Intersport Wagga in Baylis St. Out of towners ONLY can collect bibs at Apex Park Hall from 8.30 to 09.30am on event day. 10km runners and walkers have a yellow bib, the 5km bib is red. Wheelie entries have a blue bib.

Course

The Lake Run and Ride course is a 5km and 10km course through the streets of Wagga and along the banks of Lake Albert starting and finishing at Apex Park – Lake Albert. More details and the course information map can be found at course information.

Finish

The finish line is near the starting point at Apex Park Lake Albert. Participants that complete the course and cross the finish line will have their time recorded. At the finish there is lots of colour with sponsor give aways, hot food and drink. Medal presentations will occur at the finish area at approximately midday.

Safety

Safety is of paramount importance during the run and care must be taken to ensure that all traffic regulations are observed. Please complete the personal details section on the back of event bib. To ensure good hydration have plenty to drink along the course and at the finish area.

Timing

Automatic disposable timing chips are used to time each participant. The timing chips are attached to the back of the event bib, please do not interfere with or remove the chips prior to the event.

Start

10km Runners and Walkers should assemble at Apex Park Lake Albert from 9:45 for a 10am start.  

5km Runners and Walkers should assemble at Apex Park Lake Albert from 10:15 for a 10:30am start.  

If parking give yourself plenty of time to find a car park and find your way to the Apex Park Start line. Entrants should self seed with slower participants lining up behind the main bunch of runners for safety. Hot drinks are available at Apex Park before the start.

Presentations

Medals and awards are presented to event and age category winners. The presentations will take place as soon as the results are compiled around 12.00 pm.

Information for Cyclists

Assemble at Apex Park at 9:15am for the 9:30am cycle/wheelies start.

The Cycle and Wheelies section of the Lake to Lagoon is non competitive. No times are recorded for Cyclists and Wheelies, it is not a race. 

Persons entering in the wheelie section, enter to enjoy each other’s company not race. No medals are awarded nor times allocated.

Safety

Please complete the personal details section on the back of event bib. An escort will lead the Cyclist at the head of the group. Do Not pass in front of the lead group, the cycle section is not a race. You are to remain behind your escort at all times. The course is narrow along sections beside Lake Albert, please take care and look after younger riders.

Course Information and Map

The Course

The 10km run/walk and Cycle events are 10km flowing through the streets of Wagga Wagga with both the start and finish at Apex Park Lake Albert.

The 5km run/walk event follows a course around Lake Albert with both the start and finish at Apex Park.

The course provides a unique experience that combines closed streets through Wagga Wagga with walking track along the banks of Lake Albert.

The 10km event starts at Apex Park Lake Albert. From the start, the course heads north along East Lake Drive and then on to Lake Albert Road. Continuing north along Lake Albert Road, there are two drinks stations along the gentle incline through Kooringal bringing participants to the highest point as we turn around just before the intersection with Lord Baden Powell Drive. The course then returns down Lake Albert Road to the northern end of Lake Albert and turns right onto the walking track around the Lake. Following south along the western shore of Lake Albert the track goes around the boat club and along the southern shore of the Lake before finishing after 10km back at Apex Park.

The 5km event starts at Apex Park Lake Albert. From the start, the course heads north along East Lake Drive and then on to Lake Albert Road to the northern end of Lake Albert and turns left onto the walking track around the Lake. Following south along the western shore of Lake Albert the track goes around the boat club and along the southern shore of the Lake before finishing after 5km back at Apex Park.
